Since 1969, Avon Parks North and South have been carefully developed to provide commercial, industrial, retail and various types of residential housing for the elderly. The Ensign-Bickford Company's historic brownstone structures that once housed manufacturing were renovated to modern professional offices. Taking an all-encompassing approach to development, turn-of-the-century homes in the business district were converted to specialty retail use. A program of new construction of commercial and flexible-use buildings to accommodate high-tech and light industrial uses compliments the brownstones in Avon Park North. This program lives on today with the recently announced development of 100 West Main, a new two-building 120,000 square foot Class A office program strategically located on 12 acres of land adjacent to the Avon Town Offices fronting on Route 44.
